Young man commits suicide by taking antiseptic tablets at Gafargaon

A mentally unbalanced young man named Al Amin (30) has committed suicide by taking antiseptic tablets in Gafargaon of Mymensingh.

The incident took place at Bharbhara village of Rasulpur union of the upazila on Wednesday morning.

According to local sources, Al Amin, son of Sultan Fakir of Bharbhara village in Rasulpur union of the upazila, used to earn his living by doing whatever he could with his work. He remarried after divorcing his first wife. Family members claim that since the second marriage, Al-Amin has been mentally unbalanced.

On Wednesday morning, Al Amin came out of his house, ate a disinfectant tablet of the pond water and came to the front of the house. His relatives took him to local Trishal Upazila Health Complex but on his way to hospital he died.His body was later brought home. Upon receiving the news, Gafargaon police recovered the body and sent it for autopsy.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Gafargaon Police Station Farooq Ahmed said the body was recovered and sent for autopsy. Legal action will be taken on the basis of the autopsy report.
