Student Council Election: Junior atudents like leader of their choice

Student council elections were held in a grand manner at Bhuapur Model Government Primary School in Tangail in the hope of practicing democracy and building capable leadership on Thursday.

Banners, posters and festoons pervade the polling booths. Voters line up to exercise their voting right, and candidates’ parents are seen asking voters to vote.

The election was held on last Thursday (June 2) from 10 am to 1 pm non-stop. Jannatul Mawa Mahi, a 5th class student was the Election Commissioner, 2 were Presiding Officers and 4 were Polling Officers. Thirteen candidates contested against 6 posts. Items Book Learning Materials, Health, Sports & Cultural, Water Resources, Plantation Gardening, Reception & Entertainment. The candidate with the highest number of votes will be responsible for these monitoring. Candidates contesting in the election are, fifth class Hamidul Kabir (Al Hadi), Nusrat Jahan Oishee, Arifa Tahmid, Md. Abdullah Al Mahmoud Hridoy, 4th class Nusrat Jahan Noon, Nirab Sikder, Jonayet Hossain, Ifti Hasan Ichche, 3rd class Wania Binte Hasan, Nirab, Nasman Saifi Mugdh, Samiha Islam and Humaira will do it. 4 candidates competed in the fifth class.
