Labour burnt to death in Bagerhat

A labour named Aziz Shaikh (16) of Suman bakery at Peaj Patty in the district town of Bagerhat was burnt to death when it caught fire at Saturday night at about 10-30 pm. The ill-fated Azim Shaikh was the son of one Emdad Shaikh of village Kondola under Sadar Upazila in Bagerhat district. Police of Bagerhat PS recovered the dead body and sent it to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
It is learnt from K M Azizul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Bagerhat Model PS and the local fire service station that the tin shed first floor of Suman bakery belonging to one Ramesh Saha caught fire at about 10-25 pm and it went out control within moments. Being informed of the matter 2 local fire service units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after a long fighting for two hours with help of the locals. In spite of that huge quantity of inflammable materials which were kept in tin shed were completely burnt ashes and the dead body of the unfortunate labour Azim shaikh was recovered from there. At the night (Saturday) he fell asleep in the tin shed after taking supper and met his tragic end.
According to Md. Shah Jahan Siraj, Senior Fire Station officer, Bagerhat, the fire was originated from a short circuit of electricity took in the shed and the loss fire is estimated at Tk.3 lakh after a primary assessment. ##
