Frequent load- shedding disrupts public life in Bhuapur even month of Ramadan

Masudul Hasan Masud, Bhuapur (Tangail)

Frequent load shedding of electricity is also going on in the holy month of Ramadan in 100% electrified upazila Bhuapur.

Public life has been disrupted. Sometimes load shedding like Miss Call is seen again. Due to the natural hostility, the bitterness of Boishakh has already given a new lease of life to the people. Added to this is the frequent load shedding of electricity. The life of the people of the villages of the electrified upazila has become unbearable due to these two.

The more intense the heat, the more the load shedding of electricity increases. The first phase begins with the start of Ramadan with a few hours of load shedding. The second stage after the evening, the third stage during the Tarabeeh prayers and the fourth stage from late night to the last night continues the magic of taking turns to give electricity. Consumers are complaining that the officials and employees of the power office are shutting down the power for hours on the pretext of tarnishing the 100% electrification of the government.

Loadshedding is a problem when people want to breathe a sigh of relief on the windless electric fan of nature. Load shedding is happening 8/10 times in 24 hours day and night. On top of that, there is load shedding like Miss Call. Meanwhile, when there is no electricity, the official land phone of Bhuapur Electricity Sales and Distribution Department is kept busy. Customers have also complained that they were abused even after receiving it again.

Power-dependent businesses, including small and large factories in Bhuapur Upazila, have been hit by the power crisis due to frequent load shedding. Medical services in hospitals and various clinics, including students’ education and official activities, are being severely disrupted.

Consumers complain that even though there is load shedding for hours during the day, the same situation prevails at night. As a result, public life has become unbearable in the intense heat. Also pole trade, billing without seeing the meter. At the same time, billing without reading has become a regular occurrence. Although such activities of Bhuapur Power Office have been going on for a long time, there is no remedy for it.

Anwarul Islam, executive engineer of Bhuapur Electricity Sales and Distribution Department, said, “Demand is high in the system and we are being allocated less.” That is why there is load shedding from Tangail grid every evening.
