Boro Paddy harvest starts in Manikganj

Boro paddy harvest has started in different ares in Manikganj.
Manikganj DC SM Ferdous on Tuesday inaugurated paddy harvesting program at a farmer’s land at Rahmatpur in Manikganj municipal area.
Manikganj Municipal Mayor Ramzan Ali, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension Shahjahan Ali Biswas, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, Manikganj Chamber of Commerce and Industries Director Abu Bakar Siddique Khan Tushar, Manikganj Municipality Councilor Abdur Razzak Raja and many others were present on the occasion.
DC SM Ferdous said the target for boro paddy cultivation was set at 47,000 hectares of land in the district this time. But paddy has been planted in more than 600 hectares of land than the target. The district will produce about 3 lakh 36 thousand metric tons of rice this time.
Marad Hossain Selim, a farmer from Rahmatpur in Manikganj municipal area, thanked everyone, including the Manikganj DC for cutting the paddy and expressed his gratitude to everyone.
