Robi to spend $8.39 crore for spectrum

Robi Axiata, a listed company in the telecommunications sector, has bought a 7.60 MHz spectrum to boost the customer service.
Robi will have to pay 8 crore 39 lakh 20 thousand dollars for this. The company authorities said that the money will be paid in six installments by 2026.
Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) sources said this on Wednesday (March 10).
According to sources, Robi has bought 2.60 MHz in the 1800 MHz band and 5 MHz in the 2100 MHz band.
After the new purchase, the total spectrum of Robi has stood at 44 MHz while Grameenphone has 47.4 MHz, Banglalink 40 MHz and Teletalk 25.2 MHz.
Earlier, Robi Axiata bought the spectrum by participating in an auction held at a city on Monday (March 8).
Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC) conducted the auction.
